Bako’s ‘Kargi Bichi’ is A Soulful, Groove-Driven Exploration of Love and Inspiration

Bako’s Kargi Bichi (“Good Boy” in Georgian) kicks off her debut album Dreaming Again (out April 4th via Pinch Records) with a hypnotic blend of groove and introspection. It’s the kind of track that pulls you into its orbit—like a late-night city drive where the streetlights blur into a dreamy haze.

There’s a warmth to the instrumentation that makes it feel lived-in and raw, like you’ve wandered into a jam session where everyone is locked into the groove, playing with effortless chemistry. The bass hums, the percussion lingers, and Bako’s vocals glide over it all with an effortlessness.

Lyrically, Bako captures the messiness of connection—the push and pull, the emotional labor, and the silver lining of finding artistic inspiration in the chaos. “I guess I’ll take it; the sex was crazy, it’s better than writer’s block. At least I’m gaining inspiration.” It’s intimate and poetic, capturing the heady mix of passion and self-reflection. The hook—“It felt surreal, in that shower bathed in light / It felt like a dream, even if just for a moment’s time”—feels like stepping into a fleeting, feels like stepping into a fleeting, rose-tinted memory—hazy, intoxicating, and just out of reach.

If you’re into artists like Hiatus Kaiyote, Jorja Smith, or Nick Hakim, Bako’s world is one you’ll want to get lost in. Kargi Bichi sets the tone for Dreaming Again—moody, groovy, and brimming with raw emotion.
