Celeste Madden Returns with Raw Track, "Joan of Arc"

Celeste Madden returns with new single, "Joan of Arc," masterfully capturing the complexity of post-relationship woes and the tug-of-war between letting go and lingering around the impact of love lost.

Within the first few moments you feel as though you're resurfacing after a long dive. The light starts to filter in, and murmurs and sounds that were once obscured are returning with clarity. It's as if everything is back to you now, whether you're ready to face it or not.

"I was overwhelmed by all these fresh, painful emotions, but I struggled to put them into words," Madden shares. "I remember isolating myself that summer, unable to accurately convey to my friends the depth of what I was experiencing."

The track serves as both a cathartic exploration and an overwhelming unpacking of memory and identity, with Madden diving into the bittersweet and haunting parts of someone that linger after a relationship's end:

I still wear the earrings, do you still have the CD? / Sometimes I wish I didn't have these things / Constantly reminded of how I've been lonely

Whether or not heartbreak has visited you yet, this new track from Madden captures the raw, unfiltered feeling of endings.
