Bellcave debuts Gardenia: Guitar Riffs and Glitchy-Jams for Valentine's Day
So far, new alternative-rock band Bellcave has two songs to its name—the latest, “Gardenia”, a shimmering shoegaze soundscape, is out today. Fierce techno rhythms support the tinny vocals on cathartic lyrics: “mother moon, sweet reach / seeking to flood me.”
Reminiscent of Yo La Tengo à la ‘90s, Bellcave is—sonically and conceptually tempting its listeners to dissolve into a frayed reality. Driven by its opening guitar riff, “Gardenia” unfolds into a glitchy-jam style of instrumentation that feels dystopian, ironic, and therefore exceptionally suited for its release on Valentine’s Day.
